RGUKT UG admissions: Govt school students bag more seats
As many as 3,171 students from government schools and 949 students from private schools got admission in Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies. Counselling will be held from October 12 to 16 and classes will start on October 17.
Girl students outshone boys in admissions to Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT), also known as IIIT Andhra Pradesh, for the 2022-23 year. The university released the selection merit list for six-year integrated UG programmes based on the performance of students in SSC examinations.
2,721 girls, 1,399 boys got admission in RGUKT
Among the students who got selected, 76.97 per cent are from government schools while the remaining 23.03 per cent are from private schools. Also, 66.04 per cent of seats have been secured by girls and 33.96 per cent of seats by boys. A total of 2,721 girl students and 1,399 male students got admissions.
Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana said students of government schools performed better than private school students in admissions to RGUKT centres.

4,120 out of 44,208 students selected
Stating that there was a huge demand for admissions in RGUKT centres, Satyanarayana said a total of 44,208 applications were received and only 4,120 got seats. A total of 4,120 students got admissions in the four institutions of the RGUKT in Nuzvid, RK Valley (Idupulapaya), Srikakulam and Ongole.
