Why are Aspirants Unhappy with JEE Main Result?

JEE Main Result 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) activated the result link of JEE Main session 1 on February 13, 2024. Candidates can download the JEE Main 2024 result at jeemain.nta.ac.in for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.). However, after the announcement of JEE Main 2024 result, many candidates who appeared for the session 1 exam expressed their dissatisfaction on X (previously known as Twitter). According to their posts, there is a discrepancy between the expected marks and percentile scores in the JEE Main. The hashtag #JusticeForJEEMains2024Aspirants is trending on X.

One of the pages with name JEE-NEET STUDENTS COMMUNITY has tweeted, "When will we see the realization of One Nation One #JEEMains2024 Exam? Discrepancies like one person scoring 99 percentile at 233 marks while another at the same percentile with 151 marks raise questions about fairness. #jeemains2024results"

With this, the demand for One Nation One #JEEMains2024 has also incraesed. However, NTA has dismissed these allegations and has claimed that they have been awarded as per their performance, and there is no error in the JEE Main 2024 percentile calculation.

Error in Percentile Calculation in JEE Main Result 2024

Many aspirants have tweeted that NTA unfairly treated students from the shifts on January 27 and 29, resulting in their percentiles being 5-6 points lower compared to next shifts. A discrepancy of 80 marks between batches suggests an error in the normalization process. Comparing 20 questions to 0 is unreasonable. The NTA should reconsider and adjust their marks accordingly.

One of the candidate who appeared for JEE Main 2024 sesison 1 tweeted, “Students of other exam dates who have a similar score as I have got a higher percentile. Is it my fault that I was assigned the morning shift on January 27? We didn’t choose these shifts. There is a difference of nearly 80 marks, which is not a small thing in JEE. Sadly, NTA is not paying attention to this.”
