FORDA reminds govt of their long-pending demand of Risk Hazard Allowance
Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has written to the Union Health Minister as a reminder regarding their long-pending demand of Risk Hazard Allowance for resident doctors.
Shiksha.com had reported earlier that the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has been demanding a special risk hazard allowance for all resident doctors. Now, the association has written once again a letter to Union Health Minister as a reminder of their long-pending demand.
The doctors are demanding risk hazard allowance as they are risking their lives while providing health services during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The letter reads, "We once again wish to bring to your notice, the long-pending demand of Risk Hazard Allowance for the Resident Doctors. Though we had submitted our representation regarding the same twice on January 31, 2020 and March 6, 2020 at the onset of Covid-19 pandemic followed by another representation on January 10, 2022 after dealing with subsequent waves of the Pandemic, there has been no positive response from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) yet. It is pertinent to mention that as per OM No. Z.28015/119/2012-H dated September 18, 2019 issued by MoHFW (Hospital-II Section), Govt. of India, Hospital Patient Care Allowance (HPCA) / Patient Care Allowance (PCA) under R1H3 cell of Risk & Hardship Matrix of 7th Cental Pay Commission (CPC) is implemented for Allied healthcare professionals. While Risk Hazard Allowance is provided to employees/staff in several other sectors, Resident Doctors risking their lives during patient care in the healthcare sector should also be entitled to the same."
