UGC aims to encourage the active participation of people in the G20 initiative by organising different events.

G 20 Initiative: Shiksha Sankalp - an online e-pledge

University Grants Commission (UGC) has written to Higher Education Institutions about Shiksha Sankalp - an online e-pledge.

“With a view to encourage active participation of people, the central focus of India's Gzo Presidency, Ministry of Education is organizing Janbhagidari events aiming at promoting & endorsing the theme of "Ensuring Foundation Literacy and Numeracy, especially in the context ofblended learning," stated UGC.

To further strengthen the efforts to create awareness & a sense of pride among students about G-2o, the Department of School Education & Literacy is conducting "Shiksha Sankalp'- an online e-pledge through mygov.in platform_as part of India's G-zo Presidency, with an aim to achieve maximum participation of people from all over the country'.

The Higher Education Institutions are requested to share this pledge. and ensure active participation of stakeholders like students, teachers & official staff.

Further, it also requested that "shiksha Sankalp"- an online e-pledge may kindly be disseminated widely and also promoted through the social media handles of the HEIs, in order to achieve maximum participation, added UGC.

Steps to take Shiksha Sankalp

  • Click on Take Pledge
  • Enter the basic details
  • Proceed for language selection
  • Take pledge
  • Enter OTP on mobile number provided 
  • Certificate will be generated
  • Download and share

UGC recently launched Indian Knowledge System course, classes start from July 31, and admission can be taken from SWAYAM app.

“The courses are being offered through SWYAM and the platform is open for registration. In order to facilitate the target segment, the SWYAM courses are offered in three streams: Engineering, Science & Technology, and Humanities and Social Sciences,” tweeted Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, UGC chairman.

"The courses will be open from July 31, 2023 and enrollment has begun. To have a preview of the courses and to enroll, please visit any of the following URLs:

Indian Knowledge System (IKS): Concepts and Applications in Engineering https://onlinecourses.swayam2.ac.in/imb23_mg53/preview," said another tweet.
