Gauhati University Exams 2022: Gauhati University has postponed the sixth-semester examination for degree courses amid the ongoing flood situation in the state. The Gauhati University Semester Exams 2022 was scheduled to be held from June 25, however, it will now be conducted from June 29. 

Along with this, the Post Graduate examination under Gauhati University and its affiliated colleges as well as GUIST examination and I.Com examination have also been postponed due to incessant rainfall in Assam triggering floods in several parts of the state. The examinations that were scheduled to be held on June 21 and 22 have also been postponed and the new dates will be announced soon by the university.

Meanwhile, amid the ongoing flood situation in Assam, the state government has also decided to reschedule the summer vacation for all elementary, and secondary. senior secondary and higher secondary schools. The government took the decision considering the rise in water levels of the Brahmaputra and Barak rivers leading to severe flood situation in the state.

As per the new schedule, the schools in Assam will observe summer vacation from June 25 to July 25, instead of July 1 to July 31. "Secondary Education Department, Government of Assam reschedules the summer vacation in all elementary, secondary, senior secondary and higher secondary schools from 25th June 2022 to 25th July 2022," as per the NDTV report.

"Many schools in the state are being designated as relief camps, sheltering flood victims and a large number of them have been affected and damaged in the flood," the Assam government said in official order.
