The students of Government Law College (GLC) Mumbai who were declared as 'failed' have reappeared for the test to become eligible for the university's law exams.
The third and final year students of Government Law College (GLC) Mumbai who were declared as 'failed' in the internal assessment have reappeared for the test. These students will get the hall ticket only after passing the test, else they won't be eligible for the university's exam.
The students allege erroneous marking by University is the reason behind their poor results. As per the TOI report, the students have been facing stress and trauma for the past two months. Reportedly, students called the principal Asmita Vaidya many times but she didn't respond to these calls.
The students also wrote to Vice Chancellor Suhas Pednekar and to Yuva Sena about their issues. The letter reads, "One student who was earlier given a zero scored 53. Another who had got only 7 marks was given 72 after revaluation."
Maharashtra's law colleges seek advancement of admission season
The heads of the law colleges in Maharashtra have written to the state CET commissioner to advance the admission season as the delay is causing disarray in running colleges as first-year classes start only by end of the academic year.
"Due to this inordinate delay, semester I exams are conducted in May-June whereas they ought to be conducted in October and immediately second-semester classes begin. Along with lectures for semesters I and II, colleges have to conduct exams and complete the assessment of students across the second year to the fifth year and also carry out admissions to the higher class. The whole academic schedule is rendered haywire affecting the quality of work and making us suffer immense hardships," reads the letter.
