Now students of government schools will also get a chance to learn soft skills like stress management, robotics, fashion designing, and others. The school education department has decided to work for the holistic development of the students. Apart from academics, schools will be conducting co-curricular activities for students to take part in. To ensure the participation of the students in co-curricular activities including art-craft and sports, the department has instructed the government school authorities to form youth and eco-club.

Talking about the initiative, district project coordinator Akshay Rathore expressed that as per the department’s instructions at least 13 schools from each department are needed for the youth and eco-club to conduct activities.

He further added that the schools that come under 'Shala Siddhi Champion Schools' and excel in activities will be given first preference in club formation. Schools with more number of students will also be given preference. According to the guidelines laid down by the department, the activities are divided into eight parts in which students from class 1 to 8 will participate.

The art and craft will include activities will drama, elocution, drawing, calligraphy, painting, dance, and singing. Under sports and health, there will be activities like badminton, basketball, sports camps, and judo-karate.

Activities like plant and herb recognition, gardening, conducting water audit, organic manure awareness, etc. will also be taught.

The instructors will be selected as per the rules set by the department and the activities will be conducted for 10 months. The development block has to make a list of selected schools and submit the same to the department.
