Govt working to strengthen engineering infrastructure, says PM Modi on Engineer's Day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted engineers on Engineers Day and said the government is working towards enhancing the engineering infrastructure in the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted engineers on Engineers Day. He also remembered the pathbreaking contribution of Sir M. Visvesvaraya on this day. He was born on September 15, 1861, in Karnataka.
His tweet reads, "Greetings to all engineers on #EngineersDay. Our nation is blessed to have a skilled and talented pool of engineers who are contributing to nation building. Our Government is working to enhance infrastructure for studying engineering including building more engineering colleges."
"On #EngineersDay, we remember the pathbreaking contribution of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. May he keep inspiring generations of future engineers to distinguish themselves. I am also sharing a snippet from one of the previous #MannKiBaat programmes where I talked about this subject," he said through another tweet.
Engineer's Day is observed to mark the birth anniversary of engineer statesman Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, a diwan of the erstwhile Mysore kingdom, who is credited with pioneering engineering works. The day is celebrated to recognise the contribution of engineers to the development of the nation.
India celebrates Engineers Day every year on September 15, 2022. This day commemorates the birth anniversary of Sir Moksha Gundam Visvesvaraya, who is considered one of the greatest engineers of India. Joining India, Sri Lanka and Tanzania also celebrate Engineers Day on September 15, 2022, in honour of Sir Moksha Gundam Visvesvaraya. India is also known as the country of engineers.
