Haryana government to provide dual desks in schools; spends INR 95 crore

1.41 lakh dual desks will be purchased and supplied to schools in 26 blocks of Haryana throughout the state's 22 districts.

Haryana Schools are all set to get dual desks. Elementary, secondary, and senior high schools in the 22 districts of the state are all set to get 1.41 lakh dual desks, according to the announcement made by Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal. The minister made this announcement while presiding over a gathering of top education department officials.

"95 crore rupees or so will be spent on this. By January 31, 2023, the first phase of delivery of these desks to the individual schools will have occurred," Kanwar Pal said, according to media reports.

According to the minister, 1.41 lakh dual desks will be purchased and supplied to schools in 26 blocks throughout the state's 22 districts.

He said that 65,501 desks will be made available for Class 5 students, 36,168 desks for students in Classes 6 to 8, and 39,208 desks for students in Classes 11 and 12.

The minister claimed that as of right now, 5.28 lakh students in Classes 10 to 12 in the state have access to tablets.

Meanwhile, the Haryana government has also changed schools timing amid the decreasing temperature. According to an official announcement made by the Directorate of School Education, Haryana on Wednesday, the revised timing for the winter session will be 0930 hrs to 1530 hrs for the schools which are taking classes in a single shift and for the schools which are taking classes in double shift, the first shift will be from 07:55 am to 12:30 pm and the second shift will be from 12:40 pm to 05:15 pm.
