Reports suggest that schools may begin to reopen from December 1, 2021. The decision has been taken after witnessing a sharp decline in COVID-19 cases and an increase in vaccination rates.
Haryana government has decided to reopen schools for all the classes. According to media reports, schools have received the nod from the department to commence offline classes with 100% capacity for all classes. Reports suggest that schools may begin to reopen from December 1, 2021. The decision has been taken after witnessing a sharp decline in COVID-19 cases and an increase in vaccination rates. Even though permission to operate at 100% capacity for all classes has been given to these schools, the final decision has been left with the schools as to how they want to execute this plan.
Schools have received directions to chalk out a detailed plan before reopening the schools. The functioning of schools will take place adhering to all COVID-19 safety protocols. Wearing masks, using sanitizers and following social distancing is a must.
Before reaching the schools' campuses for offline classes, students and stakeholders are advised to wait for official communication from their respective schools. This is important as schools would be drafting plans to execute this. Haryana Schools were among the few in the country that started reopening long back in a phased manner.
The stated reopened the schools first for Classes 9 to 12. After this, they reopened for classes 1 to 3 from September 20, 2021. According to reports, only about 45% attendance was recorded when schools started for the latter group of students. Detailed guidelines will be released by the state government and Education Department soon for such a large-scale reopening of schools.
