Initially, Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal announced that all the schools (government and private) in the state will reopen from December 1 with full capacity.
Omicron Scare: School reopening in Haryana is not taking place with 100% capacity from today, i.e. December 1, 2021. According to the updated orders issued by the state government, the decision allowing the reopening of schools with full capacity has been withdrawn. The decision has been withdrawn after the state joined the list of names battling with the fear of Omicron, a new variant of COVID.
Following the latest orders, schools in Haryana will continue to conduct both online and offline classes with 50% capacity, like before. No change in the operations will be implemented until any further announcement. Various reports suggest that the state has put a hold on the decision only until December 10. It is advisable that students and schools must wait for an official confirmation from the state government or the education department.

Reports of Omicron fear slowly gripping people across states are arising. Though, the country has not reported any Omicron cases yet. However, states have already started adopting safety measures. Schools and educational institutions are reopening across the state. With the scare of the third wave, it is important for all to strictly adhering the COVID-19 protocols.
