Ensuring the health and safety of students, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij has earlier said that children in the age group of 15-18 years who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 will not be allowed to enter schools when they reopen.
Haryana School Reopening: The government of Haryana has decided to reopen schools in the state. According to the latest tweet posted by Education Minister Kanwar Pal, All government and private schools in Haryana for classes 10, 11 and 12 will be reopened from February 1. Stating that the decision is being taken considering the declining cases of the novel coronavirus, the minister added, "As the COVID cases decline, we can think over reopening of schools."
Earlier, the minister had informed that the schools, colleges in the state will remain closed till January 26. Meanwhile, online teaching will continue, in which schools and colleges will take the necessary action by focusing on the preparation for the upcoming examination.

Over 15 lakh children in Haryana between 15-18 years of age are eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine. India has commenced the vaccination process for this age group on January 3.
Decisions on closing and reopening of schools are being taken in various states across the country after analyzing the COVID-19 situation in their region. After receiving a petition signed by more than 1600 parents, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi has also agreed on their demands on school reopening. Meanwhile, states such as Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand have shut their schools until January 31. However, various states including Maharashtra have already reopened their schools for all classes to curb academic loss. Earlier, Maharashtra had ordered the closure of schools until February 14, 2022. However, after receiving several requests from students and parents regarding the reopening of schools, the state has commenced offline classes.
