The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists staged a protest outside the office of the National Testing Agency (NTA) over the rescheduling of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The NTA has announced that the CUET, which was cancelled last week, will be held from August 24 to 28. The NTA has also stated that it will issue fresh admit cards for the students soon.

CUET 2022 phase 2 exam began on August 4, 2022, but was marred with technical glitches causing trouble to students who were sent back from the exam centres. The first shift of the CUET exam 2022 was cancelled at several centres in 17 states, while the second shift was cancelled at all 489 centres. On August 5, the exam was again cancelled at 50 centres. Considering that a similar situation might happen on August 6, the NTA had cancelled the CUET UG for the day at 53 centres and sent messages to candidates about its postponement on Friday night.

However, on Monday, a group of ABVP activists gathered outside the NTA office to protest again the issue. The ABVP claimed that several of its members were detained by the Delhi Police during the protest.

"The CUET examination is being conducted for the last several days during which the candidates are facing enormous issues like technical glitches and the wrong allocation of examination centres due to which they are facing problems," the ABVP said in a statement.

ABVP activists later met the NTA delegation and raised the issues faced by the students during the examination. They also demanded that the schedule of other examinations should also be declared soon. ABVP claimed the NTA has assured them that all technical and non-technical problems will be resolved at the earliest and the schedule of delayed examinations like JNUET, DUET and NET will be announced at the earliest.
