ABVP members beat DDU Vice-Chancellor, Registrar inside university camps

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad activists thrashed and chased Deen Dayal Upadhyaya University (DDU) in Gorakhpur Vice Chancellor and the Registrar over alleged irregularities. The students created a ruckus over irregularities at DDU and assaulted police personnel who had arrived here to control the situation.

In a shocking incident at Gorakhpur University ABVP students attacked the VC and Registrar and started beating them. During this, when the present police tried to intervene, they also had to face the anger of the students.

DDU Vice-Chancellor Rajesh Singh and officiating registrar Ajay Singh, three-four ABVP members and some policemen were injured in the ruckus.

The students of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad have been protesting at the university for several days regarding the fee hike and their other demands. Even a week ago students assaulted the Chief Proctor, in which three students were suspended. And now the students thrashed the VC and Registrar.

The tussle broke out after the top university official refused to meet the demonstrating ABVP members who were protesting at the university gate since Friday morning. The angry students ransacked the Vice Chancellor's office.
