After 4 years Punjab announces 7th Pay Commission salary for College, University Teachers

Revised pay scales of the UGC under the Seventh Pay Commission will be implemented from October 1
Punjab government has announced to implementation of revised pay scales of the UGC under the Seventh Pay Commission for all colleges and universities in the state from October 1. Punjab CM has also announced recruiting guest teachers for imparting quality higher education.
After four years, the Punjab government has announced the implementation of the seventh pay commission in universities and colleges. Two months ago, CM Bhagwant Mann made the announcement in the state Assembly.
Today on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, through a video message, Mann made the announcement about the implementation of the revised pay scales from October 1.
As per a tweet shared from the official handle of Punjab CM: “In a Teacher’s day gift to college teaching faculty, CM @BhagwantMann announced to implement University Grant Commission’s pay scale as per 7th pay commission to teachers of colleges & universities.”
Punjab CM has also announced recruiting guest teachers for imparting quality higher education. Mann also said that the honorarium of guest teachers will be enhanced.Teachers have been demanding the implementation of the UGC 7th pay commission for nearly four years in Punjab. In August teachers’ unions in Punjab also carried out a statewide protest on August 22 demanding pay revision. As per teachers, only college/university teachers were granted their rightful pay scale, while all other government departments have been granted the benefits of the new pay scale.
