Yesterday the NTA released the answer key of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2023) and the solved question paper. As per the NTA, CUET candidates will have to deposit Rs 200 per question.

Following allegations of a huge amount of money being charged from students for the National Exit Test (NExT) 2023 mock exam, now allegations of charging money from CUET-UG candidates by deliberately putting wrong answers are being levelled against the NTA.

Yesterday the National Testing Agency (NTA) released the answer key of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2023) and the solved question paper by the students along with the answers were published. Along with this, the students were told that they can register their challenge till July 1 on the questions whose answers are wrong. As per the NTA, for which CUET candidates will have to deposit Rs 200 per question.

Former Academic Council Member of Delhi University, Samrendra Kumar has alleged that NTA is making money in the name of the CUET UG test.

NTA Wrong Answer Key?

As per Samrendra Kumar, if a cursory glance is put at the answer keys of the questions issued by NTA, many big mistakes are seen, which anyone can notice. The answers to common questions are also given wrongly in the answer key. For example, in the Political Science test in the third shift of June 6, a question was asked about the founder of the Indian National Army and the answer is Bhagat Singh as per the NTA answer key.

While the correct answer could be Subhash Chandra Bose as per the option given in the option. “Now if someone wants to challenge this wrong answer then first he has to deposit Rs 200 then NTA will correct it. This is not only loot of money of the parents in broad daylight but also an injustice to the students,” Kumar writes.

He has also alleged that similarly, the flag of the European Union and all the 5 questions related to it have also been answered wrong. In the NTA answer key, the headquarters of the European Union is mentioned as Paris, while the correct answer is Brussels. Similarly, another question "Which country has left the European Union", has been answered as the USA, whereas even a person with common sense can understand how the USA can be a member country of the European Union? If someone challenges only these six questions, then he will have to deposit Rs.1200.

CUET Hindi answer key is full of mistakes

In another example, the Hindi answer key is also full of mistakes. Kumar has stated that in the meaning of idioms or the use of prefixes; Only the wrong option has been marked as correct in the answer key. For example, what would 'exceed' be in the word 'encroachment'? According to NTA, 'extreme' is not a prefix but an antonym. Similarly, in another question, the word 'freedom' formed from the prefix 'sat' has been given, while according to the option, the correct answer would be 'goodwill'. There are around 15 such wrong answer keys in Hindi. That is, if someone challenges all these, then he will have to pay around Rs.3000 for only one paper.

CUET Students are to pay Rs 5000 to NTA

That is, after the test, the students will have to pay about Rs. 5000 to NTA to justify their correct answers, only then they will be able to get the marks for their correct answers. This means the students will compensate for the mistake of NTA.

“If this is not blatant robbery, then what is it that NTA itself is recovering the same by giving wrong answers? First, they should correct all the answers themselves and then ask for the challenge by releasing the answer key,” Kumar writes.
