Delhi Teachers University organises Faculty Development Programme on Indian Knowledge Systems
The varsity conducted online programme titled New Dimensions: Indian Knowledge Traditions in the Light of Developed India @2047 from January 8 to 12, 2024. The FDP aims to bridge the gap between traditional Indian wisdom and contemporary education as per the new NEP 2020.
DeTU Faculty Development Programme: The Delhi Teachers University (DeTU) conducted a Faculty Development and Enrichment Programme. The online programme was organised under the guidance of Delhi University Vice Chancellor, Professor Dhananjay Joshi.
The varsity conducted online programme titled New Dimensions: Indian Knowledge Traditions in the Light of Developed India @2047 from January 8 to 12, 2024. The FDP aims to bridge the gap between traditional Indian wisdom and contemporary education as per the new NEP 2020.
The week-long programme included twelve sessions which consisted of prominent academicians speaking about the principles, concepts, and potential of the Indian Knowledge Systems. The programme also explored the historical evolution of the Indian Knowledge Systems and emphasised the relevance of the same in today's educational environment.
The Faculty Development Programme offered an opportunity to educators to explore the rich blend of Indian Knowledge Systems and integrate the same into the teaching practices aligning it with the ideals of the Vikas Bharat @2047 initiative
The key points focused on in the session included Vedic literature, Upanishads, Darshanas, the Gurukul system of education, and the adaptation of traditional teaching methods to modern classrooms.
The inaugural session was held with Professor Hrushikesh Senapathy former Director of NCERT. Assistant Professors at DeTU, Professor Trishala Bhaskar and Dr. Sonal Chabra worked on the concept of the event.
