Delhi University Condemns 'Fake' Circular Declaring Winter Break; Announces Online Classes
Delhi University (DU) has released a notification on the official website condemning a fake notice circulating over social media declaring winter break from November 19 to 27, 2024. The fake notification highlighted that due to severe pollution, the university has decided on winter break till November 27, 2024. However, the official authorities condemned the notification and alerted students not to believe any information, if not notified on the DU official website.
"In order to tide over the prevailing environmental pollution caused by severe air quality and implementation of GRAP-QV measures in Delhi, it has been decided to declare 19.11.2024 to 27.11.2024 as winter break for the university and its colleges. However, all the prescheduled examinations and interviews will be held without any change in schedule. This is issued with the approval of the competent authority." The fake notification reads.
Delhi University Latest News: Classes Till November 23 in Online Mode
"The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi and NCR has deteriorated to an alarmingly high index. In the larger interest of students of the colleges and the departments of the University of Delhi, it has been decided that the classes shall be conducted in online mode till Saturday, November 23, 2024. Regular classes in physical mode are to resume from Monday, November 25, 2024. The schedule of examinations and interviews shall remain unchanged." The official notification reads.
