Education Minister stated that the government's commitment to fostering greater synergy between education and skills, in line with the NEP, positions India as a key player in the evolving landscape of industry and innovation.

Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan underlined the pivotal role of the National Education Policy (NEP) in shaping India's future-ready workforce, during his address at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024.

Speaking at the inaugural session on "Building Workforces for Future: Development of Skills for Industry 4.0," Pradhan commended the state's efforts in implementing the NEP 2020. He emphasized that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Gujarat model of development has become a guiding light for states' skilling efforts, aligning with the vision of 'Viksit Bharat @2047.'

Pradhan highlighted the importance of the NEP-led synergies in the education and skill ecosystem, making the country's youth 'future-ready.' He noted that the demographic dividend, coupled with a decisive government, positions India strategically for the opportunities presented by Industry 4.0.

The Minister stressed the significance of proficiency, productivity, and competency enhancement across the demographic spectrum. He praised India's startup and innovation culture, positioning the nation as a hub of knowledge and skills. Pradhan remarked that, amidst a globally ageing population, India's youth empowerment is a unique strength.

Anticipating India's leadership in terms of the working-age population in the next 25-30 years, Pradhan called for collective contributions to realize the vision of 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. He underlined the inclusive and participative nature of Gujarat's development model, particularly applauding its 'Women-led development' initiative.

Pradhan concluded by stating that the world looks towards India for low-cost, quality, sustainable, and scalable solutions to global challenges. The government's commitment to fostering greater synergy between education and skills, in line with the NEP, positions India as a key player in the evolving landscape of industry and innovation.
