DU Admission 2022: Over 35,000 candidates opt to upgrade higher 'programme and college combination'
Delhi University closed the option to upgrade the higher programme and college combination preference for undergraduate (UG) admission on October 27, 2022. The allocated seats of applicants who opted to upgrade and reorder their higher preferences will be automatically upgraded based on CSAS 2022 policy allocation.
DU UG Admission 2022: Delhi University has announced that about 35,288 candidates have opted to upgrade their seats while 15,398 candidates have selected the freeze option against the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) round 1 allocation. Delhi University closed the option to upgrade the higher programme and college combination preference for undergraduate (UG) admission on October 27, 2022.
The allocated seats of applicants who opted to upgrade and reorder their higher preferences will be automatically upgraded based on CSAS 2022 policy allocation. On October 19, Delhi University issued the CSAS round 1 allocation list for admission to its undergraduate courses. Colleges were asked to verify and approve the applications of candidates between October 19 and 22, 2022.
Candidates were allowed to upgrade their college and programme preferences on or before 4.59 pm on October 27. The upgrade option was available for only those aspirants who have been allocated courses and colleges other than their first preference. As per the official data released by the university on October 24, about 80,164 allocations have been made by the DU of which 72,865 students have accepted colleges and courses.
There are over 6,500 candidates who have been allocated their first preference of course and college. On Tuesday, Delhi University's first round of seat allocation was concluded with around 59,100 candidates securing their admission to undergraduate courses by paying fees. On the basis of the availability of seats, the university will declare the second round of the Central Seat Allocation System on October 30.
Most of the seats for the courses offered in DU's north campus colleges are already filled up. Hindu College, Aryabhatta College, Miranda House, St. Stephan College have either zero or very less seats available.
