Physical classes at Delhi University (DU) are set to resume on November 25, while examination and interview schedules remain unchanged.

With air quality in Delhi-NCR deteriorating to hazardous levels, Delhi University (DU) has announced that all classes will be held online until Saturday, November 23, 2024. This decision comes as authorities implement stringent Stage 4 measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to combat the severe air pollution crisis affecting the region. Physical classes at DU are set to resume on November 25, while examination and interview schedules remain unchanged.

Earlier today, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, affiliated with DU, issued its own notice, citing dangerously poor air quality in Chirag Delhi. The college emphasized that online classes would follow the existing timetable, with attendance managed through the Saksham ERP portal. Faculty have been directed to keep records of all virtual sessions.

Supreme Court Orders Emergency Pollution Measures

In a landmark intervention, the Supreme Court ordered Stage 4 GRAP measures, which include halting physical classes for grades 10 and 12 and banning non-essential construction activities. Vehicle restrictions are also in place, limiting entry to BS-VI-compliant trucks and restricting older BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles, unless essential. Authorities are actively monitoring compliance and have established grievance mechanisms for public reporting.

A:

No, aspirants wishing to apply for any of the MBA colleges under DU must pass CAT. DU colleges offering MBA provide maximum weightage to the CAT percentile. Check below the CAT weighate for admission at DU:

DU Colleges CAT Percentile Weightage
FMS Delhi 50%
DBE 70%
DSE 80%

Apart from CAT, the performance of the candidates in Class 10, Class 12, graduation will also be considered for MBA admission.

Q: Β  Can I take admission to DU with 60% in Class 12?

A:

DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU.

However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).
