DU PG Admissions 2023: CSAS-PG to commence after declaration of CUET-PG results by NTA
In the University of Delhi, Ph.D. is offered in 51 Programs among various Departments and Centres.
The University of Delhi offers admission to 77 Postgraduate programs in 58 Departments/ Centres of the varsity. With a sanctioned intake of 13500 seats (including NCWEB), it has been decided that admission to all Postgraduate programs is based on the scores obtained through the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate admissions, conducted by NTA.
This year, admission to the Masters in Respiratory Therapy of the Faculty of Medical Science has also been added to the pool of programs wherein admissions will be done through CUET(PG) merit scores.
The University published the Postgraduate Bulletin of Information on 22.03.2023. Through the PG Bulletin of Information, the varsity announced the eligibility criteria and the CUET Test papers that the candidates are expected to appear for admission to a concerned program.
The University has now announced that admissions to all PG programs will be done through a Common Seat Allocation System for PG. CSAS-PG will commence after the declaration of results by NTA. Desirous candidates will have to register for CSAS(PG)-2023 by paying a registration fee (Rs. 250.00 for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS and Rs. 100.00 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates). An additional fee of Rs. 100 (non-refundable) will be taken for Sports supernumerary quota.
What is Common Merit List and Category 2 Merit List
In PG seat allocation system, for each program, wherever applicable, there will be two categories of list: Common Merit List and Category 2 Merit List. For the purpose of allocation, all candidates will be considered in the common merit list. For Category 2 only students of UoD will be considered as per Program Specific Eligibility. The Highest Possible Preference will be provisionally allocated to a candidate considering the Program-Based merit list, Social Category (UR/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD), and availability of seats.
Other CSAS policies such as Upgrade, Freeze and Mid-Entry will be applicable in PG allocations as well.
Registration and admission to CSAS PG are likely to commence in the last week of June.
Admissions to PhD Programs
In the University of Delhi, Ph.D. is offered in 51 Programs among various Departments and Centres.
For admission to the Ph.D. programs of the University, the candidates will have to appear either in a national-based test such as UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/ similar test or should appear in CUET(PhD.). Interview, however, is mandatory for all Candidates.
From the academic year 2023-24, the Ph.D. registration portal shall be opened more than one time (2-3 times) in an academic year to enable the candidates who get eligible on the basis of qualifying UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ AYUSH-NET/DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE or equivalent national level examination/fellowship (as identified by DRC)/GATE/teacher fellowship holder to appear directly for an interview.
Candidates wishing to appear in CUET(Ph.D.) 2023 may also register. However, such candidates will be shortlisted for interviews only after NTA declares the result of CUET(Ph.D.) 2023-24.
There will be a one-time registration fee (non-refundable) for PhD programs. SC/ST/PwBD candidates will have to pay Rs. 300/-, while Unreserved/ EWS/ OBC-NCL will pay Rs. 750/-.
On the recommendation of DRC and BRS, the Departments may hold interviews more than one time in an academic year to give equal opportunities to all eligible candidates (those who become eligible based on CUET(Ph.D.) as well as those who are exempted from the entrance test) to appear for the interviews, as per the Ordinance VI, VI-A, VI-B and its amendments. The departments shall declare the seats accordingly, on the recommendation of DRC and/or BRS.
PG, PhD registration to commence in June Last week
Registration and admission to CSAS Ph.D. are likely to commence in the last week of June.
This year, the university has included a supernumerary quota for Orphans. The University of Delhi will be admitting two candidates (one male and one female) in each program of study, both at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.
Five year integrated LLB
DU Vice Chancellor said that from this academic session new programs like five-year LLB and ITEP are also being started.
In response to a question asked by journalists, the Vice-Chancellor said that a proposal is being sent to the Government of India to make Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute of UoD a full-fledged medical college.
