Education is About Nurturing Creativity, Says Education Minister at Pargaash 2024

Pi Jam Foundation in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission to unveil sustainable solutions to address local challenges in Kashmir where 75+ projects were showcased by over 200 students. 

Pragaash 2024

Pi Jam Foundation in cooperation with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, UNICEF, and the Directorate of School Education, J&K hosted Pragaash 2024. The event was organised to highlight the innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of young students of Jammu and Kashmir state. During the event, 75+ Projects were showcased by promising students. The statistics highlight an impressive participation of J&K in the ATL innovation challenge with 36% in comparison to the national average of 3.18%. 

Over 200 young innovators, 100 educators, and key stakeholders witnessed the talent and ingenuity of the students. The event was organized by the Pi Jam Foundation, supported by UNICEF, in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and the Directorate of School Education (DSE), J&K. The event included projects originated in Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs), operating technology and design thinking to address critical regional issues.

The chief guest of the event, Sakina Masood, Minister for Education, Health & Medical Education, and Social Welfare, shared the true meaning of education saying “Education is not just about academics; it is about nurturing creativity and providing students with platforms to express their talents and ideas. This initiative demonstrates our commitment to empowering students to think beyond the textbook. Programs like these are transforming our education system into a platform for innovation, where every student’s talent is recognized and nurtured.” She further emphasized that the goal is to provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents and explore real-world applications of their ideas, preparing them for a brighter future.”

Impact of ATL Labs in J&K 

  • 127 ATL Labs established across the region with Direct Impact on 100+ ATL Teachers
  • 25,000 Students were impacted, including both ATL and non-ATL students.
  • 6500 Teachers and 18,000 Students mobilized for the School Innovation Marathon.
  • 3200+ Ideas Submitted in the marathon, fostering creativity and problem-solving.
  • 27 National-Level Selections in various innovation challenges, demonstrating excellence in innovation and design thinking.
