Govt to introduce Kalakshetra Foundation Bill for awarding degrees during Winter Session

The government is also planning to bring National Dental Commission Bill-2022 to set up a National Dental Commission and the National Nursing and Midwifery Commission Bill-2022.

The Kalakshetra Foundation (Amendment) Bill-2022 to empower Kalashetra to award certificates is among 19 Bills listed by the Government of India for the winter session of Parliament commencing on December 7.

The government is also likely to bring National Dental Commission Bill-2022 to set up a National Dental Commission and to repeal the Dentists Act, 1948 and the National Nursing and Midwifery Commission Bill-2022 to repeal the Nursing Council Act, 1947.

The Kalakshetra Foundation (Amendment) Bill, 2022 seeks to amend the Kalakshetra Foundation Act, 1993 (No. 6 of 1994) to empower the Kalakshetra Foundation to award certificates; diplomas; post graduate diplomas; degrees to graduate and post-graduate; doctoral and post-doctoral courses; and conduct research in the areas of dance, traditional theatre, drama, carnatic andtraditional music, visual arts, craft education and art education.

The Bill will be introduced for consideration and passing.

Winter Session 2022 of Parliament will commence from December 7 and continue till December 29 having 17 sittings spread over 23 days.
