Lucknow University to Become First State University to Offer Multiple Entry Option
Lucknow University will be the first state university in the country to offer multiple entry options to students from the academic session 2024-25 under National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Lucknow University (LU) to offer multiple entry options under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 from the academic session 2024-25. Lucknow University has introduced NEP in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the year 2021. Under the multiple entry scheme, students were given the flexibility to exit a programme anytime along with the equivalent diploma, advanced diploma, honours degree or complete degree.
Consequently, permission to re-enter (multiple entries) was proposed later on to get admission in the same or a different programme. Now, LU has formed a nine-member committee to prepare rules and regulations regarding multiple entry options. Consecutively, students will get the option of multiple entries and exits as offered by IIT Delhi and other renowned institutions across India, as reported by TOI.
The multiple entry and exit option will offer academic freedom to students to choose their preference and to re-enter in case required. Since NEP 2020 allows students to enrol in any year and start their education right from where it was left; students have the option to explore new possibilities to achieve academic excellence. Besides, students who have to leave their education midway due to any reason can have the opportunity to continue their studies under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Further, at times students leave a programme in between and several seats remain vacant. On such seats, students can have the opportunity to avail of multiple-entry options based on merit. Students with the best academic records out of all the applicants are offered admission.
