Mahendra Pratap Singh University will emerge as a center of modern defense studies: PM Modi
Named after Jat icon, Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University will provide affiliation to 395 colleges of the Aligarh division.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Modi said that the new university emerge as a centre of modern defence studies.
The University is being set up at Aligarh’s Kol tehsil and will provide affiliation to 395 colleges of the Aligarh division.
PM Modi speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University said that the university will not become only a big centre of higher education but will also emerge as a centre of modern defence studies, defence manufacturing-related technology and manpower development.
He aid that the new National Education Policy’s (NEP 2020) features of skills and education in the local language will benefit this university a great deal.
The assembly elections in the state are slated for 2022 and BJP and UP Government are leaving no stones unturned to woo the voters.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath earlier announced to open one medical college in every district of the state. In the last 45 days, UP has seen the foundation laying of four universities, School of Forensic Sciences, Lucknow by Home Minister Amit Shah, Ayush University at Gorakhpur by President Ramnath Kovind; National Law University at Prayagraj by President Kovind and today Raja Mahendra Pratap University at Aligarh by PM Modi.
Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University
The University is being established by the Uttar Pradesh Government in memory and honour of the freedom fighter, educationist and social reformer, Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh. The University is being set up in a total area of over 92 acres at village Lodha and village Musepur Kareem Jarouli of Aligarh’s Kol tehsil. It will provide affiliation to 395 colleges of the Aligarh Division.
