Nagaland University Introduces New Research Methodology Course for Aspiring Scholars

Nagaland University’s Department of Teacher Education inaugurated an ICSSR-sponsored 10-day research methodology course for Research Scholars. The research methodology course aims to strengthen the research skills and abilities of young scholars by offering a thorough understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Prof. Ramesh C. Patel, Vice Chancellor of the Indian Institute of Teacher Education (IITE), Gujarat was the guest of honour of the event. During his address, he urged students to focus on providing a strong foundation in research knowledge and practices, such as understanding sampling frames, formulating research questions, and defining research objectives.
He further emphasized intellectual honesty in research as it is the need of the hour in this era of artificial intelligence. Going forward, he highlighted that knowledge and understanding in research will ultimately shape policy-making and teacher education practices, both in India as a whole and in Nagaland precisely.
Prof. G.T. Thong, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Kohima campus was the chief guest of the event who emphasized the importance of the scientific research process in educational research. He also expressed appreciation for the organizers' efforts, which provide young research scholars with valuable opportunities to learn and explore new concepts.
During the event, Prof. P.K. Pattnaik, the course director introduced the audience with the background note for the Research Methodology Course along with the significance of the course.
