OBC students association urges Education Minister to direct UGC to conduct common CUET Counselling 2022
"If Common CUET UG and PG counselling is not possible to conduct then the Universities can offer free web counselling for admissions," the letter read. "The intention of conducting a common entrance exam will be defeated if such exams create hurdles for students due to the financial burden on the students," it added.
CUET UG, PG Admissions 2022: The All India OBC Students Association (AIOBCSA) in a letter to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has urged to direct the University Grants Commission (UGC) to conduct a common CUET UG and PG counselling for various courses in Central Universities and participating State Universities under the single window in different phases with choice of options to students.
It must be noted that the admission process in various central universities is currently underway on the basis of Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2022) scores. Students have been paying the counselling fees that varies from INR 350 to INR 600 per course. If there is a common web counselling portal then it will reduce the financial burden on the reserved category students- SC, ST, OBC and EWS.
"If Common CUET UG and PG counselling is not possible to conduct then the Universities can offer free web counselling for admissions," the letter read. "The intention of conducting a common entrance exam will be defeated if such exams create hurdles for students due to the financial burden on the students," it added.
The CUET UG exams 2022 were conducted from July 15 to August 30, in six phases. The CUET UG Result 2022 was announced on September 16. The National Testing Agency (NTA) while announcing the result said that the merit lists will be prepared by all the participating universities individually, which will decide on the process of counselling based on the CUET UG scorecard.
Meanwhile, CUET PG 2022 result will be announced shortly, and the post graduate admission process in various universities on the basis of CUET PG 2022 scores will commence soon.
