Students will have the freedom to choose the subject as per their wish.

Patna University is all set to implement the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) from the new session. To implement CBCS, the university has prepared the syllabus of 26 subjects.

Patna University Vice Chancellor Prof. Girish Kumar Chaudhary informed all the teachers of the university and college about CBCS in a special workshop organized for CBCS. Chaudhary informed that it is mandatory to implement CBCS even at the graduation level before implementing the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Patna University will implement it from the session 2022-23, the VC informed. Director of IQAC Patna University, Dr. Virendra Kumar presented a detailed outline on CBCS where he informed that the credit score of 26 subjects for which the syllabus has been prepared is 140.

Kumar said that skill education is the need of the hour, in which many additional subjects will also be taught. Students will have the freedom to choose the subject as per their wish.

The Vice-Chancellor said that the responsibility of the Head of the Department and the Principal increases more in running the courses through CBCS. “They have to pay attention to whether the classes are running smoothly or not, whether the course is being finished at the right time. Only after that, the final semester examinations will be conducted,” VC said.
