Rajasthan Scholarship Scam: The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment blacklisted and barred four additional educational institutions from accessing the scholarship portal. This decision was prompted by severe irregularities regarding student scholarships. Furthermore, the department mandated the filing of FIRs against the heads or authorized officials of these institutions. These measures were taken in cases where students were deemed ineligible for the scholarships offered by these institutions.

The decision was taken based on the report submitted by the inquiry committee on December 29. Last month, the department had blacklisted and banned 40 institutes, including 7 private universities, from the scholarship portal with immediate effect. As a result, the department has ceased accepting new applications from these 44 institutions.

The four institutions added in the list of blacklisted institutions are Gaurav TT College, Jaipur; Hadoti Private ITI, Ladpura, Kota; SPDM Private Industrial Training Institute, Jhotwara, Jaipur; and Swami Vivekanand Teacher Training College, Jaipur. Students found ineligible by the investigation committee, formed on December 12, will no longer receive scholarship benefits.

The Social Justice and Empowerment Department has directed the scholarship approving officer under the district magistrate's jurisdiction to thoroughly review and process pending, held, withheld, approved, sanctioned, and bill-generated applications from the inception of these institutions. This evaluation is to be conducted based on merit and within the respective jurisdiction.
