Claims can be processed through the Scholarship Fellowship Management Portal (SFMP).

In a recent development, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced an extension for stakeholders to claim pending dues related to Post-Doctoral and Doctoral fellowships. This decision comes after UGC received numerous representations urging an extension of the deadline.

According to the public notice issued by UGC, the last date for claiming pending dues has been extended to 8th July 2024. Stakeholders, including Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and fellows, are urged to utilize this extended period to claim their pending dues, encompassing fellowship, house rent allowance, and contingency admissible until March 2024. Claims can be processed through the Scholarship Fellowship Management Portal (SFMP).

This extension follows a similar move made by UGC in February 2024, where the deadline was extended to 8th April 2024. The previous notice emphasized the importance of clearing pending dues, including pre-revised and revised fellowship amounts, house rent allowance, and contingency admissible until December 2023.

The notice further clarifies that individuals who have already claimed pre-revised fellowship amounts need not take any additional action for claiming arrears due to revision in fellowship rates.

It is important to note that after the 8th of April 2024, UGC will not entertain any claims pertaining to the period up to December 2023. Stakeholders are urged to adhere to the extended deadline to ensure timely processing of pending dues.
