UGC Update: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released a notice for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). As per the notice issued, it has been stated that all the HEIs must update the the details of their SWAYAM Local Chapters in the google link provided in the UGC notice pdf.
This came after UGC's online SWAYAM meeting, chaired by Prof. M. UGC Chairman, among other topics, also provided insights on SWAYAM Local Chapters
SWAYAM Local Chapters
At present, there are 2295 UGC SWAYAM Local Chapters. SWAYAM Local Chapters act as the crucial link between SWAYAM and the respective University or College. Their primary role involves distributing information and updates about SWAYAM courses, as well as assisting the academic council or statutory bodies in selecting appropriate SWAYAM courses for students.
Furthermore, these Local Chapters are vital in promoting student engagement, fielding questions, and facilitating a smooth learning experience for the students.
Nomination of Faculty Members as Local Chapters
It has also been stated in the notice that HEIs that have still not nominated faculty members as Local Chapters (SWAYAM Coordinators in Universities & SWAYAM Mentors in Colleges) are requested to take necessary action as SWAYAM Local Chapters to facilitate the smooth operation of SWAYAM. The university's active involvement may create a network of Local Chapters that will significantly contribute to the success of SWAYAM and foster a culture of online learning within our academic community.
