UGC Releases List of Fake Universities in Delhi; UP, Maharashtra, Among Other States Included

A list of fake universities in Delhi, Maharashtra, UP, West Bengal and other states has been released by UGC to inform students regarding the authenticity of the university before applying for admission.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recently released a list of fake universities in India. Illegitimate universities in Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh among other states have been notified by the commission in order to make students aware of the authenticity of a university before getting admission to a university.  Besides, it is essential to check every detail of the university or the college thoroughly before investing hard-earned money in scamming universities. UGC Identifies Eight Fake Universities in Delhi

The web portal of a fake university can look as similar to a genuine university. Hence, the UGC has released a list of fake universities in India to aware students beforehand. UGC has identified the list of fake universities across different states of India. Among them, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Puducherry each have one fake university. West Bengal and Kerala have two fake universities while Delhi topped the list with eight fake universities.
