UGC Requests HEIs to Nominate Nodal Officer for Yuva Sangam Phase V; Online Registration to Begin Soon
Yuva Sangam is an ongoing education cum cultural exchange programme to celebrate diversity wherein participants gain immersive experience during the 5-7 day programme. Since its inception, more than 5,000 youths and coordinators have participated in more than 110 exposure tours.
University Grants Commission (UGC) has requested all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to nominate a Nodal Officer from their university/ college to ensure the execution of the upcoming Yuva Sangam Phase V programme. The Yuva Sangam is a programme that was introduced as a part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) programme back in the year 2023 in order to attain interpersonal connections and empathy among students.
"The 22 eminent HEls across India have been paired to organise the tours and steer the programme under five broad areas. These tours offer multidimensional insights to the youth under five broad areas - the 5 Ps i.e. Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Prodyogiki (Technology) and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect). The programme aligns with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 through its emphasis on experiential learning and imbibing first-hand knowledge of the rich diversity of India." The official notification reads.
Yuva Sangam is an ongoing education cum cultural exchange programme to celebrate diversity wherein participants gain immersive experience during the 5-7 day programme. Since its inception, more than 5,000 youths and coordinators have participated in more than 110 exposure tours. The commission will begin the registration process for the fifth phase Yuva Sangam programme shortly. The students will be able to register online for participation in the forthcoming phase V through the link i.e. ebsb.aicte-india.org. Besides, the authorities will begin the cultural-cum-educational tours in the month of October 2024.
