UGC will be conducting a two-day training programme on content creation and teaching through Bharatiya languages. The commission has asked vice-chancellors of universities to nominate two senior faculties to become certified Master Trainers after the training. Check notice here

UGC To Conduct Training on Content Creation

University Grants Commission (UGC) along with Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti (BBS) has come up with a joint initiative of a two-day training programme on content creation and teaching through Bharatiya languages. The training programme will be held in offline mode in February or March 2024. 

The commission has requested the universities to bear the TA/DA of the nominated faculties for the purpose. The remaining arrangements associated to accommodation, food and stationery will be done by the host institution (training venue) with the support of Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti. 

Nomination of Two Senior Faculties 

UGC has asked vice chancellors of universities to nominate two senior faculties to become certified Master Trainers after the training. The nominated senior faculties should be professor or associate professor level (one from Science and another from Commerce/Social Science) who can speak, write and teach in the local language where the university is located. 

The link of the google forn for nominating two senior faculties is given in the notice pdf. They must note that before filling out the google forn, the nomination letter must be filled and signed by the Competent Authority since the scanned copy will be required for upload in the google form. The last date to submit the google form is January 31, 2024.

UGC's Notice Regarding Training on Content Creation 

It has been stated in the notice pdf that, "Promotion of teaching-learning through local languages in higher education is a crucial area of focus in the National Education Policy-2020. The policy emphasises on offering of academic programmes in HEIs through mother tongue/local languages as a medium of instruction, in order to increase access and GER and also to promote the strength, usage and vibrancy of all Bharatiya languages."
