UGC Urges HEIs to Update Students on SWAYAM Prabha's SMS/WhatsApp Facility

UGC has issued a notice urging all HEIs to disseminate information about the new SMS/WhatsApp facility feature initiative in SWAYAM Prabha to the students and faculty members. To enhance students accessibility this feature has been incorporated into the schedule. Get latest updates here 

The UGC has released a notification advising all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to inform about the latest SMS/WhatsApp feature introduced in SWAYAM Prabha among both students and faculty. This addition to the schedule aims to improve accessibility for students. To improve student access to SWAYAM Prabha, a new SMS/WhatsApp feature has been integrated into the timetable. 

This tool is designed to effectively relay schedule updates across different subjects. Powered by an AI engine within the SWAYAM Prabha portal, the SMS service ensures systematic and coherent information delivery to students. The UGC views this initiative as a step toward advancing the goal of delivering quality education in areas with restricted digital or internet connectivity.

Increase in the number of SWAYAM Prabha Channels 

Earlier, the SWAYAM Prabha initiative witnessed a surge in its channel count, elevating from 22 to 40. These channels host curated content by different agencies under the Ministry of Education, such as CEC/UGC, IITs, and IGNOU. The diverse content covers a broad spectrum of courses, catering to both postgraduate (PG) and undergraduate (UG) levels. These encompass a myriad of disciplines, including Arts, Science, Commerce, Performing Arts, Social Science, Humanities, Engineering Technology, Law, Agriculture, Health Science, Design, Apparel, and beyond.
