IIIT Hyderabad offers scholarship for women pursuing BTech courses
The 36-week online course on Foundations of Modern Machine Learning (FMML) is scheduled to begin from January 2022 and the last date to register for the course is December 25.
iHub-Data at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad has announced Women Education Promotion Scholarships for their 36-week online course on Foundations of Modern Machine Learning (FMML), which is scheduled to begin from January 2022.
Women Education Promotion Scholarship to cover 50% course fee
Under the Women Education Promotion Scholarships scheme, all girl students who are currently doing BTech will be extended scholarships covering 50 per cent of the course fee. U Deva Priyakumar, Academic Head, iHub-Data, said the scheme was primarily aimed at empowering women students, especially those belonging to rural areas, to join and complete high-tech training courses at affordable rates.
“Increasing participation from rural areas and bridging the gender gap in high-tech research domains are areas of priority, in all training programmes offered by iHub-Data. The first course on FMML had seen almost 50 per cent participation from girl students. We are looking at enhancing this ratio, as some of these niche deep-tech training areas are ideally suited for women,” Deva said.
The last date to register for the course is December 25. The course is designed to augment the efforts of training, placement and higher studies for undergraduate students pursuing four-year engineering programmes in the computer science engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering or allied domains, and align them with the ne computer science engineering eds of industry or research in deep-tech areas such machine learning.

Participants who complete the programme will be awarded a certificate of merit from the institute. Course fees for general candidates is fixed at INR 10,000 and for all eligible women-candidates it will be INR 5,000.
