IIT BHU student bags INR 2 crore package on Day 1 of placement
Students have managed to save almost INR 50 lakh of the institute by setting up placement systems themselves. They have also prepared a IIT BHU placement portal on their own.
A student of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) BHU has has been offered a whopping salary package of INR 2 crore by a US-based company on Day 1 of the placement season at the institute.
The placement season began at all IITs today. This year, the premier engineering institutes are expected to get higher number of job offers as many of them have already received record pre-placement offers (PPOs). IITs in Chennai, Kanpur, Roorkee, Guwahati, Mandi and Jodhpur have already seen a 22-55 per cent increase in PPOs as compared to last year and 2019.
More than 1,000 students are a participating in the placement drive, which is being held in the hybrid mode. Major recruiters participating in the placement drive at IIT BHU are Microsoft, Wipro, Tata Steel, Jaguar, Google, Reliance, Samsung, JIO 5G, OYO, Flipkart, Amazon, Uber, Tata Consultancy Servics (TCS), Zomato and others.
IIT BHU placement drive is being conducted at Rajputana Hostel of Placement Institute, where all organising students are on full-time duty. The organising committee consists of students pursuing BTech and integrated dual degree courses.
This time, students have set up the placement systems themselves. They have also prepared a IIT BHU placement portal on their own. They are working day and night to make sure that the institute’s money is saved for this year’s placements. With all these initiatives, they have managed to save almost INR 50 lakh of the institute.
