IIT Indore has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the NHAI, that will cover all the technical consultancy including improving the quality of construction, alignment corrections and other services in central India. The civil engineering department of IIT Indore will be the nodal point for all the engagements between the institute and the NHAI.
"Seventh-semester students, especially those in the civil engineering branch, will undergo a selection process by NHAI for internship. The selected students will be actively involved in the project and they will be visiting sites across the state along with the NHAI team," IIT Indore PRO Cdr (retd) Sunil Kumar told TOI.
“NHAI will extend financial assistance to the interns of the institute. MoU is a part of a green initiative for both the organisations and it will set a model of future road development projects,” he added.
Vivek Jaiswal, Regional Officer, Bhopal and Manish Asiti, Director, NHAI-Indore project, also visited the IIT-Indore campus to discuss the details with director Suhas Joshi.
