The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has signed an agreement with the National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) for sharing knowledge on innovative ideas and technologies in the field of highway engineering.
The statement said that the agreement provides a formal basis for initiating interaction between NHIDCL and IIT-Roorkee, and it will play a significant role in realising the aims and objectives of Prime Minister's GatiShakti - National Master Plan launched recently, according to an official statement.
Both NHIDCL and IIT-Roorkee are leading organisations in their respective fields and are desirous of working together to work as a team to achieve national objectives, undertaken with their best abilities and maximum mutual cooperation with the intent of helping each other, the statement added.
IIT Roorkee collaborates with HESCO
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has inked an MoU with the Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organization (HESCO). The agreement has been signed between the technology institute and the organisation for cooperation in training, education, research, and deployment for promoting rural infrastructures and improving livelihood opportunities of rural communities. Under this agreement, IIT Roorkee and HESCO will work together for joint submission of research and development projects under the call of a proposal from different government and non-government funding organizations for promoting rural infrastructures and livelihoods enhancement of rural communities, training, and workshops on Himalayan sustainable development, the press release stated.
The agreement also includes joint training programmes by IIT Roorkee and HESCO on different natural issues such as new techniques in water resources management and agriculture development, food security, agriculture security, livelihood security, drinking water security, energy security, natural hazards, climate etc.
