Students who have graduated last year must note that Jadavpur University will commence the distribution of certificates from the office of the controller of examination on January 17 and continue until February 28.
Jadavpur University in its latest announcement informed students that the original final degree certificates of the students who graduated last year will be distributed in person in a staggered manner. The decision has been taken as the university could not organize its convocation ceremony on December 24 because of the surge in the number of novel coronavirus cases. Students who have graduated last year must note that Jadavpur University will commence the distribution of certificates from the office of the controller of examination on January 17 and continue until February 28.
A notice signed by Satyaki Bhattacharya, the controller of examination said, “To avoid gathering in the present pandemic situation, students are requested to come as per schedule following the COVID-19 protocol.” Students can check the department-wise schedule in the respective faculties, i.e. science, engineering and arts along with the list of documents to be brought by the students on the official website of Jadavpur University.
Earlier on December 19, the executive council of Jadavpur University decided that degree certificates of the graduating students would be uploaded online because the convocation could not be held. Those who want to take the original certificates can come to collect them, said registrar Snehamanju Basu.
Earlier, Jadavpur University informed that it has been forced to start offline classes in the engineering and technology faculty from January as workshops and lab classes cannot be attended over online platforms.
But the arrival of students on the campus has left the university grappling with its resources, said a JU official.
