JEE Main 2022 Topper Interview Navya Hissaria: Know How Navya Scored 100 Percentile, Preparation Strategy, and Books
Shiksha spoke to Navya Hissaria, a Rajasthan state topper who also cracked KVPY and the National Physics Olympiad. Know how he scored a full percentile in JEE Main 2022 Session 1, how he managed all his preparations, strategy, etc. He also decided to retake the exam after getting a full percentile for the sake of practice. JEE Main Result 2022 Topper Interview Session 1: Navya Hissaria is from Rajasthan and has scored a 100 percentile in JEE Main June Session 2022. We spoke with Navya about his preparation strategy, the books he read, the time he spent studying, and so on. The JEE Main Result for Session 1 was released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the early hours of July 11, 2022.
He not only scored a 100 percentile but also 300 out of 300 marks. The strange thing is that a perfect score did not stop Navya from retaking the exam. He appeared for the second session for the sake of practice. As per him, taking a high-pressure exam will help him practice his time management. As per the rules, the best of the two attempts' scores will be counted in the final result in JEE Main 2022. Now, he is preparing for JEE Advanced 2022. He has also got an All India Rank (AIR) 13 in KVPY. He also qualified for the National Level Physics Olympiad. His next goal is to crack JEE Advanced and pursue a B.Tech from the CS branch of IIT Mumbai.

Q. Hi, Navya, Congratulations! For your result. What was your reaction when you saw your scores?
Navya: Thanks! My family and I were very happy. It was a proud moment for all of us and for my teachers.
Q. How are you feeling about being one of the top scorers of JEE Main 2022 Session 1? Was the JEE Main 2022 exam your first attempt?
Navya: I am feeling very happy and yes, it was my first attempt. I am very excited now.
Q. What is your NTA score in JEE Main 2022 Session 1?
Navya: I scored 100 percentile in JEE Main 2022 Session 1.
Q. First, tell us something about yourself, your hobbies, etc.
Navya: I am from the Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan. I did not get much time for hobbies, but I like travelling.
Q.Tell us about your JEE Main 2022 preparation. When did you start preparing for JEE Main, etc.?
Navya: I started preparing for JEE Mains after I got my results from the 10th board examination. I joined Allen Institute in Sikar district and then I started my preparation.
Q. Did you join any coaching institute for JEE Mains preparation?
Navya: Yes. I joined Allen Institute.
Q. What was your strategy for JEE Main preparation? Which subject did you focus on more and why?
Navya: My preparation strategy is to attend all Allen Institute classes on a regular basis. I did my homework on time, took my tests, etc. I studied properly all the materials provided by the institute. I focused on all three subjects, which is very important for JEE Main preparation. However, sometimes I feel that I should give more time to Physics and Mathematics. Therefore, I took some extra hours for Physics and Mathematics.
Q. How much time did you spend on the JEE Main Exam?
Navya: I spent much of the time on JEE Mains preparation. After my coaching classes, I do self-study for around 8 to 9 hours a day and rely on online learning, even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Q. Who has been the driving force behind your success in JEE Main?
Navya: I was keenly interested in science, and this was the driving force that pulled me to work hard and follow my interest.
Q. Describe your daily routine while preparing for JEE Main.
Navya: My daily routine was to do Allen classes and complete their homework on that day itself. I totally relied on the material, classes, and tests provided by the Allen Institute. Self-study is also important. I studied around 8 to 9 hours daily after coaching classes.
Q. Can you recommend some books that you used for JEE Main preparation?
Navya: Apart from these NCERT books, the Allen Instituteβs materials.
Q. Tell us something about the JEE Main 2022 Session 1 exam. What were the questions, and which topics were covered?
Navya: Questions are NCERT based. If you have covered it thoroughly NCERT that much is sufficient.
Q. How helpful are previous year's papers and mock tests for JEE Main preparation?
Navya: Yes, I solved previous year's papers and mock tests, which helped me in avoiding silly mistakes and getting to know the pattern of the examination. I practised plenty of mock tests provided by the Allen Institute also.
Q. What is your future plan for higher education? Which college and course do you want to attend in the future?
Navya: To prepare for JEE advanced and wants to study Computer Science at IIT Bombay.
Q. What is your advice to students who will be appearing in the upcoming JEE Main sessions?
Navya: Those students, whose first attempt was not good, try to correct their mistakes and give a second attempt properly. Practice mock tests as much as you can. Solve previous yearβs papers and revise NCERT properly. Those who are beginners try to attend all classes properly, devote time and make a proper strategy. Try to solve questions, understand theories, etc. Focus on what your teachers taught you.
Q. Who is your ideal and how did they help you in your JEE Main preparation?
Navya: My family supported me a lot during the course of my preparation. My childhood dream is to crack JEE Main and pursue studies at IIT.
Q. Please relay some words to students who are currently preparing for JEE Main.
Navya: Follow the instructions of the teachers. Cover the syllabus with proper understanding and give your 100%. Vigorously revise the class notes, coaching modules and NCERT.
Q. Anything else that you want to share with us related to preparation, etc.
Navya: For JEE Main, the primary requirement is to have a depth of knowledge of the subjects. Avoid silly mistakes, attempt mock tests, do previous year's papers. Believe in yourself.
