JEE Main 2022 topper Kushagra Srivastava has scored 100 percentile in the June session and is also planning to attempt the next session. Here is an exclusive interview of Kushagra with Shiksha.

NTA announced JEE Main 2022 result on July 11. With the result, NTA has announced the list of toppers. 14 students have scored a perfect 100 percentile in this session. Kushagra Srivastava from Jharkhand is one of them.  Shiksha got in touch with the topper and had a conversation about his experience with the exam, preparation strategies, future plans and more. Q: Congratulations Kushagra on your performance in JEE Main 2022, how was the overall experience of JEE Main 2022 June attempt?

A: My overall experience of the JEE Main June attempt was good. I found Physics and Chemistry easy, however, Maths was moderate, and by moderate I mean it involved a lot of calculations.

Q: Where were you born and brought up?

A: I was born and brought up in Jharkhand itself.

Q: Did you take any coaching for JEE preparations?

A: I did my coaching from Allen Kota.

Q: In which class have you enrolled in coaching?

A:  I started coaching from class 11.

Q: How was your board exam?

A: Term 1 was great. The term 2 results are awaited. But overall it was good.

Q: How much preparation went on for JEE Main 2022 June attempt?

A: I basically had revised NCERT of Physics and Chemistry. For Mathematics, I solved past year's questions. Actually, I solved past year questions for all the subjects, but for Mathematics, I did not do NCERT.

Q: What was your preparation strategy?

A: For me, it was self-study. I used to study on average for 6 hours, excluding the class. I dedicated 6 hours on average to self-study, it is very important.

Q: Did you take any mock tests for JEE Main and did they help?

A: Yes they did. I first completed solving all previous year's question papers for JEE Main. Then, I started with the mock tests. In the final days, I used to give tests almost every alternate day.

Q: Did you feel any kind of pressure while you were preparing for JEE Main 2022?

A: No. I didn't feel any pressure because nobody pressured me to get a good rank.

Q: What kept you going and motivated throughout your preparation days?
A: What kept me going was the fact that I love Physics and Math. So that was the motivation.

Q: Will you be taking the next attempt of JEE Main 2022?

A: Yes, I will attempt the next session also.

Q: Which college and course are you targeting for admission?

A: My target is IIT Bombay and the course I am targeting is Computer Science Engineering.

Q: Do you have any books to recommend for the preparations of JEE Mains?

A: For JEE Main, NCERT is the most important book and the coaching modules.

Q: Do you have any advice for the future JEE Main aspirants?

A: Yes, I would like to advise the future aspirants to follow the instructions of the teachers, and vigorously revise the class notes, coaching modules and NCERT.

A total of 7,69,589 students have appeared in the session 1 exam against a total registration of 872432. The exam was held from June 23 to 29. JEE Main 2022 exam date for session 2 is July 21 to 30. 

National Testing Agency will conduct the JEE Main 2022 session 2 exams in 501 cities across the country and 22 cities outside India. The exam will be held online as a Computer Based Test and will have three papers, Paper 1 for admission to BE/BTech course, Paper 2A for BArch admission and Paper 2B for BPlan course admission.
