JEE Main 2022 Topper (AIR 2) Sneha Pareek - 'Motivation is the key factor to secure a perfect score'

JEE Main 2022 topper Sneha Pareek secured 100 percentile in the June session and an overall rank of AIR 2. Here is an exclusive interview of Sneha with Shiksha.

NTA has released the list of the JEE Main 2022 toppers. Out of the numerous students who attempted the examination, Sneha Pareek from Assam is one of the exceptional students who bagged the perfect score in the June session and secured an overall All India Rank (AIR) 2.  Hailing her parents and teachers as her ultimate source of motivation, Sneha wishes to perform well in JEE Advanced 2022 and study Computer Science at IIT Bombay. Q. Hi, Sneha, Congratulations! For your result, what was your reaction when you saw your scores?

Sneha: I was very happy. It was a proud moment for my family, teachers and my friends.  

Q. How are you feeling about securing AIR 2 in JEE Main 2022? Was the JEE Main 2022 exam your first attempt?

Sneha: Yes, it was my first attempt at JEE Main. I am feeling very happy. I was not expecting to be one of the toppers but now I am very much excited.

Q. What is your NTA score in JEE Main 2022 Session 1?

Sneha: I secured full NTA scores in JEE Main 2022 Session 1.

Q. First, tell us something about yourself.

Sneha: I am from Guwahati. My hometown is Rajasthan, but I was born and raised in Guwahati.

Q. Tell us about your JEE Main 2022 preparation. When did you start preparing for JEE Main, etc.?

Sneha: I started preparing for JEE Main 2022 in 11^th standard. However, I took admissions into Allen in December. From then on, I started my preparation.

Q. Did you join any coaching institute for JEE Main preparation?

Sneha: Yes. I joined Allen Guwahati in December.

Q. What was your strategy for JEE Main preparation? Which subject did you focus on more and why?

Sneha: I focused on all three subjects and gave equal time to them. That is very important for JEE Main.

Q. How much time did you spend on the JEE Main Exam?

Sneha: I spent all of my time on JEE Main preparation and not for board exams or any other exam. I have been preparing from the 11^th standard.

Q. Since you are from Assam, did the floods affect your JEE Main preparation?

Sneha: No, it did not. Allen provided all of the materials that were required for me to prepare well for JEE Main 2022.

Q. Who has been the driving force behind your success in JEE Main?

Sneha: My family. Seeing them work hard for me also motivated me to work hard for their future and make them happy with my results. My teachers also always motivated me to work harder.

Q. Can you recommend some books that you used for JEE Main preparation?

Sneha: NCERT books are enough for JEE Main. Main theory parts and direct questions can come from NCERT, especially for Physics and Chemistry. Other than that, HC Verma is important for Physics and for Inorganic Chemistry, it is Sudharsan Guha.

Q. What is your preparation strategy for JEE Advanced?

Sneha: Currently, I am studying at Allen from 8 AM to 8 PM for JEE Advanced. We are having two test papers on alternate days and we discuss our doubts.

Q. How helpful are previous year's papers and mock tests for JEE Main preparation?

Sneha: Yes. Previous year's papers and mock tests help avoid making silly mistakes and to get to know the pattern of the questions. I practised past year's questions for my preparation.

Q. What is your future plan for higher education? Which college and course do you want to attend in the future?

Sneha: I want to study Computer Science Engineering at IIT Bombay.

Q. What is your advice to students who will be appearing in the upcoming JEE Main sessions?

Sneha: Follow what your teachers and parents ask you to do. Be focused during the two years of preparation and give your 100%.

Q. Anything else that you want to share with us related to preparation, etc.

Sneha: For JEE Main, avoid silly mistakes by attempting mock tests daily.
