Jharkhand schools closed for Classes 1 to 5 until Jan 8 due to cold wave

While the schools will remain closed up to Class 5, students from the remaining classes would be required to go to school as per their given time table until further orders are issued.

Jharkhand schools shut amid cold weather. According to an official notice released by the higher department in Jharkhand, due to the intense cold wave in India, Jharkhand Schools will remain closed for students of Classes 1 to 5. Jharkhand Schools will remain closed till January 8, 2023. The announcement for schools closed has been made on January 3, 2023.

While the schools will remain closed up to Class 5, students from the remaining classes would be required to go to school as per their given timetable until further orders are issued.

"Amid winters, classes of students of grades 1st-5th will remain closed till January 8: Office of State Education Minister," stated a tweet by news agency ANI.

In Jharkhand, cold wind and fog have gushed all over the city resulting in a temperature drop. Since January 1, 2023, the eastern state has witnessed a sudden drop in temperature due to the cold wave.

The announcement comes from the office of the Jharkhand Education Minister, Jagarnath Mahato. In Uttar Pradesh as well, Lucknow Schools have been closed until January 7, 2023 and Mainpuri schools have been closed until January 14, 2023, due to the dropping temperatures.

Other states such as Punjab has also closed schools due to the cold wave till January 8, 2023. Rajasthan Schools will remain closed due to the winter vacations till January 5, 2023. If the temperatures drop further, an official announcement regarding the extension of holidays is expected.
