The university clarified that the relaxation will be only for this academic year and the students who have not registered for the semester exams are also eligible for promotion.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, (JNTUH) has announced that there will be no credit-based detention for the 2020-21 academic year for BTech / BPharmacy / PharmD / PharmD (PB) courses.

The university announced, "It adapted no credit-based detention for the academic year 2019-20 due to COVID-19 pandemic i.e… students who have been detained due to shortage of credits in the academic year 2019-20 and previous academic year were promoted to next academic year 2020-21. Due to repetition of COVID pandemic situation in the academic year 2020-21, this relaxation has been extended." However, the university clarified that the relaxation will be only for this academic year and the students who have not registered for the semester exams are also eligible for promotion.

The university celebrated its golden jubilee in October by introducing BTech (Hons) and BTech Minor degree programmes in multidisciplinary areas for the upcoming academic year. The university further announced that students appearing for the upcoming semester examinations will have to write five out of eight questions and there will be no compulsory section with short answer questions.

The semester-end exams will be conducted for a duration of two hours instead of the regular three hours. However, the maximum marks for the external exams will remain the same.

JNTUH had organised a mega job fair on December 18 and 19. A release issued by the varsity said, “As per the information, nearly 10,000 job offers were rolled out for different job profiles and 15,000 candidates have been shortlisted for further process of interviews.”
