Karanataka High Court has directed the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) to conduct two additional valuations of the 109 MBBS students.

Giving a big relief to the 109 MBBS students of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), the Karnataka High Court has directed the university to conduct two additional valuations of their failed subjects, in respect of MBBS (RS3) examinations held in February 2022.

Justice Suraj Govindaraj said that in terms of Regulation 13 of the Medical Council of India Graduate Medical Education Regulation, 1997, if there is difference of 15% marks between the evaluators, the deviation valuation (by 5th evaluator) has to be conducted as well, as reported by TOI.

As per the petitioners out of four evaluations recommended by MCI regulations of 1997, only two evaluations were taken by the university. The court has upheld the MCI regulations and asked the univeristy to conduct two more valuations.

The petioners also sought for declaration of their results before the conduct of the supplementary MBBS Theory RS3 examinations of May 2022, scheduled to start from May 5, 2022.

RGUHS reports 82% pass percentage

In line with the previous years, students of RGUHS have clocked a pass percentage of 82.2%. Nearly 43,883 students will get their medical degree certificates at the convocation scheduled for April 30, 2022.

It includes 82 students in PhD, 6,796 in PG courses, 146 in super-specialty courses, 78 in PG Diploma, 362 in fellowship courses, 36,409 in undergraduation and 10 in certificate course.
