Karnataka School Reopening 2022

Karnataka School Reopening: With the commencement of the academic year 2022-23, Karnataka schools have reopened to a cheerful atmosphere after the conclusion of the 35-day summer vacation. For the last two years, the COVID-19 pandemic followed by subsequent lockdowns disrupted the academic calendar as well as offline classes. To finally welcome students back to school, elaborate arrangements were made by the Karnataka education department and government school authorities. The arrangements included chorus anthems and songs returned to the school premises.

The Karnataka Chief Minister Basvaraj Bommai also greeted students returning to schools as the academic year began across Karnataka.

Speaking to the media, the minister said, “After a long time, schools have started. The education department made all the arrangements. They are welcoming children in a traditional manner to create a favourable atmosphere for learning.”

“We are ready to provide textbooks, clothes and bicycles. Let the classes resume because there was uncertainty over the resuming of schools. Our desire is to see children going to schools as they used to do before COVID-19,” he added.

Several schools performed Aarti and students were welcomed by teachers by putting tika on their foreheads. Mid-day meals included sweets on the first day of the academic session.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation announced on Monday that it has restarted the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) Scheme in Bengaluru.
