The state District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has launched a Niyama Gothram initiative to train tribal students in legal education.
Noticing the lack of representation of the Scheduled Tribe communities in the legal profession, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has launched the Niyama Gothram program to prepare tribal youth for various law entrance examinations.
This program was launched at Dr Ambedkar CBSE School, Njaraneeli, Peringamala, in the presence of the chief guest DK Murali, Vamanapuram MLA and DLSA member.
Under the DLSA's initiative, and also with the support of the District Scheduled Tribe Development department, these students will be trained for the Common Law Entrance Test for admission to national law colleges, as reported by The Hindu.
Details of DLSA's Niyama Gothram program
It is being held in association with reputed law colleges of the districts such as Law Academy Law College, Government Law College, and Mar Gregorios College of Law. Fourteen teachers of these colleges have volunteered to teach these tribal students.
In the first phase of the Niyama Gothram program, as many as 11 students from the Scheduled Tribes will be trained to appear for the upcoming Common Law Entrance Test in June.
