Kerela Government Education Board (KGEB) has released the notification for KTET 2022. The application process for KTET 2022 has been made available from October 25 and will continue till Nov 7. The Kerela Teacher Eligibility Test commonly known as KTET is taken to determine a candidate’s eligibility to teach in Kerela’s primary and upper primary schools. The candidate can know important information regarding the KTET 2022 exam.

How to apply for KTET 2022? 

The steps to apply for KTET 2022 are given below. The candidates need to follow the mentioned steps to apply for Kerela Eligibility Test 2022:

• Click on the link available for registration 
• Click on the 'New Registration' link 
• Read the instructions and click on the three checkboxes 
• Click on the 'Click Here to New Registration' button 
• Fill all details in the KTET registration form 
• Click on the save button to generate the application ID  
• Make payment for KTET 2022  
• Print copy of the application for future reference

KTET 2022 Eligibility Criteria  

The category-wise eligibility criteria for KTET 2022 has been provided below. Interested candidates can go through the eligibility criteria details before applying for KTET 2022.

Eligibility Criteria for Category 1 (Lower Primary Classes) 

Candidates possessing the following educational qualification can apply for the KTET 2022 exam, Category 1: 

Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary or (or its equivalent) with at least 45 per cent marks and two years Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) [by whatever name known] conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent. 

OR 

Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45 per cent marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002. 

OR 

Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd). 

OR 

Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). 

Eligibility Criteria for Category 2 (Upper Primary Classes)  

Candidates possessing the following educational qualification eligibility can apply for the KTET 2022, Category 2: 

BA/BSc/BCom and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) [by whatever name known] conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent. 

OR 

BA/BSc/BCom with at least 45 per cent marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (BEd), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard. 

OR 

Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (BElEd) 

OR 

Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 4-year BA/B.Sc.Ed or BA Ed or B.Sc.Ed. 

Eligibility Criteria for Category 3 (High School) 

Candidates possessing the following educational qualification can apply for the KTET 2022 exam, Category 3:   

BA/BSc/BCom with at least 45 per cent marks and a B.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned (from any one of the Universities in Kerala or have acquired these qualifications from any other Universities recognised as equivalent thereto) 

OR 

For Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, those who have an MScEd Degree in the subject concerned with not less than 50 per cent marks from one of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by NCERT will be eligible to apply. For Botany and Zoology subjects, those with an MScEd Degree in Life Science with not less than 50 per cent marks from any of the Regional Institutes of Education are eligible to apply. 

OR 

BA or equivalent with at least 45 per cent marks and who passed LTTC are eligible to apply. 

KTET Eligibility Criteria for Category 4 (Language Teachers, Specialist Teachers and Physical Education teachers) 

Candidates who possess the required qualifications for the post of Language Teachers of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit & Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers as mentioned in Chapter XXXI of KERALA EDUCATION ACT AND RULES are eligible to apply for KTET 4.
